From the recording Music From The Margins

Comfort of Pain was written after reflecting on friends that were once vibrant, creative people that fell into the abyss of drug addiction. Seeing them fall deeper with increased usage and how this transformed their lives, behaviors, and decisions was tragic. The drug epidemic is real.

Lyrics

Intro
Ooo, oh

Verse 1
Let me welcome you to never land
The only place the lonely can understand
You don’t feel dirty, you don’t feel clean
Take the needle and you won’t feel a thing

Chorus
No one knows what you’re feeling inside, in the comfort of pain
No one sees the tears that you cry, in the comfort of pain

Verse 2
Pull the shades, you better lock the door
Take the cure when you can’t take anymore
Freedom floats on a cloud of despair
Always returning to the land of nowhere

Chorus
Well you had it all and threw it away, to the comfort of pain
How can heaven have hell to pay, in the comfort of pain

Bridge
We used to laugh about saving the world
Before your body was shaken and curled
Sinking into your world of grey
Desolation road, nowhere left to go

Ooo, oh

Chorus
Well you had it all and threw it away, in the comfort of pain
How can heaven have hell to pay, in the comfort of pain

Ooo, oh
